This weekend was rife with politicos. Last night I ran into State Rep. Eddie Lucio III at J. Black's. He enjoyed the Obama-Strama story and then I stopped bothering him so he could continue celebrating with a wedding party.
Today my wife, who was in town from LA this weekend, and I stopped by to show her boyfriend the Capitol (I know, it gets confusing that my wife has a boyfriend but just go with it). There's nothing like hitting up the Capitol after several bottomless mimosas from Taverna. The word "granite" never seems so hilarious and suddenly it seems like a good idea to join in on the peace protest (or was it a peace rally?) and start talking into the microphone.
Tonight $2 invited me to Momo's to meet up with him and Andy Brown, who is recovering from the March 4th insanity. I also met Elise Hu for the first time and was exposed as not just any Rachel, but in fact, Mean Rachel. Thanks, $2. A photo was in order.
The more I talk to various people, the more I realize what a huge favor I have done for Mark Strama by convincing him to retire the joke. You can thank me later. I like Hefeweizen, if you see me atShultz's Scholz's (Lee Nichols is a harsh taskmaster) on Thursday.

Okay, if you're going to be a political mover and shaker in this town, then you're going to have to learn how to spell Scholz. If you can't, then I'm going to send you off to work for the Laura Morrison campaign.
I do love pizza.
lee: I fixed it! Terribly sorry. German is not my forte!
I handed out some stickers for Laura Morrison at the convention, does that count?
elise: Well we have that and blogging in common then.
I love me some Hefeweizen and some Mark Strama. I may be thanking you for that joke fixing soon enough =) Look forward to seeing you at the BOR bash on Thursday!
KT: Oh yes! I will see you Thursday. bt-dub, I have decided to piggyback my 24th birthday party onto BOR's party at Sholz's! It will be fabulous.
Ooh, careful about basking in democracy too long--you can get a quite a burn unless you prepare yourself with cynicism cream. Just ask the current administration. ;-)
greek: I'll make sure we wear our SPF (shielding political fried-dom) next time!
