The Many Faces of Mean
It looks like at least one semi-positive result has come from the closing of the IC. I spent the bulk of this evening catching up on things that I'd been meaning to do for a while, like dusting and...well, mainly just dusting. I think the last time I dusted was during the first Gulf War.
It's funny to be hanging around my apartment on a Friday night, mainly due to the stream of text messages I've been receiving. Crazy drunk people texting me is even more hilarious when I'm sober. I like this one: Going beering, want to join? "Beering?" That's a verb now? I kind of like it.
I not sure if you guys are managing to keep up with the many projects I have going on right now. Trust me, I'm hardly finding the time for them myself. Make sure you've subscribed to some of the other places I've been popping up on:
StephenColbert08 blog: Kind of a weird story of how I got hooked up with these guys (involving a random evening in the Inner Sunset district of San Francisco -- scandalous, I know), but I'm enjoying myself so far. Hopefully I'll eventually get to meet SC himself out of the deal.
Austin Adventure Boot Camp blog: I write every Tuesday and Friday. And by "write" I mean "whine."
PetRelo blog: I wrote about a dog I sent to Tokyo this week. And no, it wasn't Harry. Sorry. I'm sure he's been made into soup or something by now. Or maybe sashimi.
Also I wanted to give mad props to my fellow Senior Vixen and favorite ex-pat, The Madwoman, for getting her first book published. It is the Grade Saver ClassicNotes Wide Sargasso Sea Study Guide, and if you go to the Amazon page it has her name next to it and everything. Which is pretty damn awesome. The funniest part of it all is that we met in senior English and read Wide Sargasso Sea that year, bitching about it the entire time. On some awful final or something there were these multiple choice questions where you had to match characters names with their descriptions. One of the "names" of the characters you had to identify was "Nameless Boy." Everyone missed the question, having no recollection of a "Nameless Boy" and if they did, had no idea which nameless boy it was. So today when The Madwoman sent me the link, the first thing I mentioned was Nameless Boy and she said she included him in the study guide just because of that stupid test! We had a very 2001 moment of "Ohmigod, what would Mrs.D. say!?!"
The Madwoman has definitely always been my biggest fan and cheerleader when it comes to my writing, and has always edited my work whenever I ask her to. So THANK YOU, The Madwoman and Ise'proud like proud self..and don't forget: Set meh down easy, Ise'a cracked plate.

The Madwoman is *thrilled* to be featured on both amazon and MR.com in the same week. WOOO!! Perhaps she should consider writing a note for TEWWG... Or not.
Also, back Stateside on 12/18. The H's demand your presence at our eggnog fireside fest...
You had me at eggnog!
